digital kids

Alot to learn here, as a parent. Some salient bits:

Snippets from the Digital Kids talk

Norman Lewis from Orange gave this talk, and it’s a small room. My keys clattering is unpleasantly loud. I’m pulling snippets:

Norman: ‘Kids today are growing up in the presence of adults: kids no longer interact with kids outside of adult supervision. They get taken to school. Kids interacting with other kids – a parent is always present. Parents want kids to have a mobile phone with them.’

[…snippy…]

‘The families who have not tried to create strict rules around what they can and can’t do, those kids are far more conscious of what’s good or bad. The kids who are controlled bring far more porn into school than those who are given simple rules but their freedom.’
